Foundation buys into Stock

FREMONT — The Sandusky County Communities Foundation recently announced Jesse Stock joined the organization as its new executive director. "He brings with him decades of nonprofit leadership experience, a deep commitment to community engagement and experience in strengthening local philanthropy," according to a foundation statement. "Stock's extensive background in nonprofit management, grantmaking and community collaboration will help guide the foundation's mission for the future." Aaron Wilson, the foundation's board chair, noted he's pleased with the depth of experience Stock brings to the organization. "A strong executive director is essential to advancing our mission, and Jesse brings a remarkable combination of experience, leadership and dedication to community service," Wilson said. "We are excited to welcome him as our new executive director and look forward to the insight and energy he will bring to our organization." Throughout his career, he has focused on helping communities identify their strengths and mobilize resources to create sustainable, locally driven solutions. Prior to joining the Sandusky County Communities Foundation, Stock served as executive director of Partners for Clean Streams. He also held leadership roles with organizations, including the Greater Toledo Community Foundation and the Athens County Foundation where he helped cultivate philanthropic partnerships and advance community-focused initiatives. Earlier in his career, he led community engagement efforts in Athens County and served in roles with the American Red Cross, the Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities, St. Vincent Family Center and the Center of Science and Industry Stock also served nearly 23 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, including two deployments to Afghanistan. He retired from military service as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 and a decorated veteran, receiving two Bronze Star medals in recognition of his leadership and operational excellence in complex environments. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Franklin University and has pursued graduate studies in business administration with a focus on nonprofit Leadership. Stock remains active in the nonprofit sector and has served on several community boards, including the northwest Ohio chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Originally from Ohio's Appalachian foothills, "Jesse believes strongly that lasting change begins within communities themselves," the statement read. "In his role at the Sandusky County Communities Foundation, he is committed to building trusted relationships, growing local philanthropy and supporting initiatives that help Sandusky County thrive for generations to come," it added. Stock has been married to his wife, Robin, for more than 25 years. They live in northwest Ohio. They have two adult children. Outside of work, Stock enjoys cycling, coaching and refereeing soccer, as well as spending time along the shores of Lake Michigan.
