Arts garage hosting several speakers

PORT CLINTON — The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council recently announced several events involving speakers and a local author book signing happening in the near future at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry St., Port Clinton. All events take place at 6 p.m. Here's a look at what to expect with excerpts from the council: Patrick O'Keeffe We are proud to launch local author, poet and historian Patrick O'Keeffe's new book, "My Mother's Voice," on Friday, March 27. It is a standalone book, but a character from his previous novel, "Cold Air Return," is the main character. Readers say his books are enjoyable and difficult to put down. O'Keeffe lives locally and looks forward to meeting avid bookworms. Mike Stone On Wednesday, April 22, Dr. Mike Stone will share his experiences raising Belgian show horses at Oak Haven Belgians, which was established in 1992. Stone earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1988 from Ohio State University and, in 1992, opened the Oak Harbor Veterinary Hospital. Cary Ferguson Celebrated local artist Cary Ferguson will speak on Friday, May 15 about his experience studying under Master Glass Cutter, Walter Langan. Now located in Marblehead, Ferguson opened Ferguson Cut Glass Works, Inc. in 1979 in Cleveland. His glass creations and paintings are enjoyed in collections throughout the U.S. and Canada. Author event Multiple local authors will be on hand Thursday, June 25 to share their novels, memoirs and local historical books. Authors will read from their books, sign books and be available to discuss their process. Want to go?
