Career camp keys in on construction

FREMONT — The Sandusky County Economic Development Corp. recently hosted a student career camp alongside North Point Educational Service Center. This particular camp put a spotlight on careers in construction. Here's a snapshot of the day as explained by the corporation: • "Our students had the opportunity to engage with instructors from Terra State Community College and Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers, exploring diverse program options and gaining insights from current seniors in Vanguard's building technologies program." • "The experience continued with a visit to Damschroder Roofing where students participated in hands-on training at their new facility, guided by the Damschroder team. They even heard from owner Dana Howell, who shared his inspiring journey from roofing technician to company owner." • "We concluded the day at Mosser Construction's training center where students learned about various pathways to leadership and showcased their skills on the mini-excavator. The corporation thanked all the participating businesses and organizations for playing a pivotal role in this event and opening up pathways for students.
