Joan E. (Garvin) Killian

SANDUSKY — Joan E. (Garvin) Killian, 79, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.She was born May 13, 1937, in Clyde to Matthew and Fayne (Colvin) Garvin. She was a 1955 graduate of Townsend Twp. High School. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for two years, Western Security Bank for three years, and as payroll clerk for the Erie County Engineer's Office for 30 years.Joan was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Good Sam Club, American Legion Auxiliaries, and Orioles Club.Joan is survived by her sons, Robert (Sylvia) Griggs of Sandusky, Steven (Marlene) Griggs of Milan, Randy Griggs of Norwalk and Jeffrey and Thomas L. (Cathy) Griggs, both of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Mary) Garvin of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Killian; son, Daniel Jr.; daughter, Julie Killian; and sisters, Jean Dubbert and Marian Mowry.Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. Inurnment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
