Lake Erie: A great provider for spiders | Sandusky Register Ohio has over 640 known species of native and naturalized spiders belonging to 20 families. They are members of the Class of animals called Arachnida, which also include harvestmen (daddy long-legs), ticks, mites, pseudoscorpions and a species of scorpion in Ohio. Many are surprised when they learn that daddy long-legs are NOT spiders.
