Elmore man indicted for allegedly possessing child pornography

PORT CLINTON — An Ottawa County grand jury recently indicted an Elmore man accused of possessing child pornography. On Feb. 18, grand jurors indicted Conner B. Shirer, 32, of the 19000 block of W. Orchard Drive, on the following charges: • Four counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, each a second-degree felony • Two counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, each a second-degree felony • One count of criminal trespass, a fourth-degree misdemeanor • One count of attempted voyeurism, a fourth-degree misdemeanor According to Shirer's indictment, the alleged crimes occurred between Dec. 24, 2024, and Feb. 17, 2026, when Shirer allegedly downloaded multiple videos and photos depicting young children engaging in sexual activity. As of Thursday afternoon, Shirer remains inside the Ottawa County Jail on a $400,000 bond. He has an upcoming court hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. on April 1. Background The investigation into Shirer first began on the evening of Feb. 15, when an Ottawa County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to a home after the homeowner reported someone was in their backyard looking through the windows of their underage child, according to an Ottawa County Sheriff's Office report.
