CEO stepping down from bank position

SANDUSKY — After more than 40 years in banking, Dennis Shaffer has announced he will retire as CEO of Sandusky-based Civista Bank, effective Aug. 28. "Dennis' leadership has helped shape not only our organization but the communities and customers we proudly serve," according to a bank statement. "His steady guidance, strong relationships and commitment to integrity and accountability have positioned Civista for long-term strength and continued success." Shaffer will remain actively involved with the organization, serving as chairman of the board while supporting a transition period. Come Aug. 28, Chuck Parcher will assume the role of chief executive officer. Currently serving as president, "Chuck brings the experience, leadership and vision to confidently lead Civista into its next chapter," the statement read. It continued: "Civista remains strong with an experienced senior leadership team, solid financial performance and dedicated employees across every market we serve. Most importantly, our culture of care for our customers and communities continues to guide everything we do. We thank Dennis for his extraordinary service and look ahead with confidence and optimism."
