Cedar Point rolling out more than just Valravn coaster

Something new is brewing at Cedar Point and it won't turn you upside down or spin you around in circles.Just as the park is rolling out Valravn in 2016, guests will get a taste of the roller coaster in ice cream, soda and a themed beer.Chris Miller, vice president of food and beverage at Cedar Point, is excited about what he and his team is rolling out this season."We know that people are here for the roller coasters, my job and my team's job is to get people to talk about the food," Miller said.Cedar Point has partnered with the Brew Kettle in Strongsville for a Valravn-themed Red/Black IPA. Valravn is the second coaster with its own brew following Rougarou's RougaBrew in 2015.The Valravn beer will be the fifth beer the park has offered in its Brew Kettle partnership, only one beer from offering a Cedar Point variety six pack.The five beers are the Valravn IPA, RougaBrew lager, Slaughter House Red for HalloWeekends, a Frontier Trail Ale and an Iron Horse porter themed after the Cedar Point Lake Erie R.R.Park guests will also be able to have a new flavor of Dippin' Dots with the Cookie Crown Crunch making its debut on the Midway.The amusement park has also partnered with another Sandusky centenarian business with a Valravn ice cream. The Valravn Salty Caramel Fudge Truffle will be available in the park and also at the Toft's Dairy on Venice Road. The new flavor will be at more locations later in the season.Miller stressed the importance of working with local companies for the park's food offerings. "It's absolutely important. We are part of the community, the community is part of us."To round out the Valravn food line up, Miller and his team tested the Coca-Cola Freestyle options to come up with the FlavaRavn Fizz. The concoction is a mixture of Mr. Pibb Extra, Coke Vanilla Cherry and Orange Soda.
