District hosting Pi Day celebration

BERLIN HEIGHTS — The Milan-Berlin Library District will offer a wide range of programs this March, including hands-on history experiences, seasonal celebrations, food-themed gatherings and unique learning opportunities for all ages. Note: The Milan Public Library is located at 19 Church St., and the Berlin Heights Public Library is located at 4 E. Main St., Huron. Here are some featured events: • Intro to Fountain Pens, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 7 at the Milan Public Library — Learn how fountain pens work, how to choose inks and nibs and how to write with one. Registration required. Attendees receive a free fountain pen. • What's Cooking? Potluck of Bread, from 6-7 p.m. on March 9 at Milan Public Library — Home cooks are invited to bring a favorite bread, classic, quick, gluten-free or inventive to share with fellow food enthusiasts. Registration is required. • Pop-Up Cafe: Pi Day Social — From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 14 at Berlin Heights Public Library —Celebrate Pi Day with a free community tasting event featuring homemade pies, tarts and other sweet treats, available while supplies last. • Peter Rabbit's Hop, Play & Create — From 10:30-11:30 a.m. on March 18 at Milan Public Library — Toddlers and caregivers can enjoy Beatrix Potter-themed stories, crafts, snacks and movement activities in a playful celebration of spring. • Meet a Baby Lamb with Farmer Erika: 4-4:45 p.m. on March 26 at Milan Public Library — Children can meet a real baby lamb while learning about sheep, farming and animal care from a local farmer. Additional March offerings include book discussions, grief-support groups, cozy gaming programs, teen baking workshops and crafting sessions.
