Norwalk library spotlights March programs

NORWALK — The Norwalk Public Library will offer a wide range of programs for children, teens and adults throughout March. Among some featured events: • G.E.M.S. with Moana, Week 1, from 4:30-6 p.m. on March 2 — Students in grades 3-5 will build Moana's raft, test sail designs, craft Heart of Te Fiti necklaces and begin constructing an island volcano. Registration began on Feb. 9. • G.E.M.S. with Moana, Week 2, from 4:30-6 p.m. on March 9 — Participants will create bioluminescent water, build an underwater volcano demonstration and conduct sink-or-float experiments. Registration began on Feb. 16. • Kids in the Kitchen, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on March 3 — Children in grades 1-5 will learn to prepare white chicken chili and beef chili in this hands-on cooking class. • Flowerpots, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on March 11 — Kids in grades 1-5 can decorate their own flowerpot with fingerpaint and plant a seed to take home. • Macrame Bookmarks from 5:30-7 p.m. on March 30 — Adults can learn to create macrame bookmarks with Brandy from Mama's Macrame. Registration begins March 9. Additional March offerings include storytimes, teen cooking classes, Dungeons & Dragons sessions, a true crime discussion group, book clubs and more.
