Robert E. Lowe Sr.

Robert E. Lowe Sr., age 80, of Castalia, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2016, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.He was born March 30, 1935, in Toledo. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 32 years. After retiring in 1988, Robert restored many old cars and played in the "cronies card club." He was a member of Four County Conservation League, Bellevue, and he enjoyed doing Boy Scout crafts with his grandson, Giuseppe.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marlene (Churchill) Lowe, whom he married June 25, 1955; daughter, Cheryl Dwight; son, Robert (Ilene) Lowe; five grandchildren, Derek Robert Pullano, Joshua Lowe, Spencer Lowe, Travis Lowe, and Mario Vargas; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Giuseppe, Skylar, Sellia, and Stella; three step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Kidwell and Patricia (Willie) Gardner.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen (Beck) Lowe.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate, and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Margaretta Fire Dept., 113 South Ave., Castalia, OH 44824.
