What's new at Cedar Point in 2026

SANDUSKY — Cedar Point on Saturday opened its gates for the amusement park's annual charity event, Winter Chill Out, which raised $120,000 this year. Proceeds benefited the nonprofit A Kid Again, which provides cost-free, carefree family outings, such as trips to amusement parks, sporting events, zoos and more. Cedar Point has partnered with the charity for a number of years, bringing the total contribution to more than $900,000. On Saturday, guests who made a donation received a behind-the-scenes look at various areas around the park, including the new Siren's Curse maintenance garage. In addition to some souvenirs to take home and a warm meal, they were also given the first chance to purchase new merchandise for the season, which opens May 9. Some of the highlights of new things coming to the park this season include: • The Jack Aldrich Theatre will feature a "Generations"-type show. • The Frontier Trail bathrooms will be remodeled. • The two locations for Starbucks, in the park and at Hotel Breakers, will be updated. • Pagoda is being modified so guests will now be able to walk between Sweet Spot and Peanuts at the Point directly into the gift shop. • Military veterans will now have separate parking spots at the front gate. • Cedar Point Star Spangled Celebration will celebrate America's 250th anniversary from June 29 to July 4 with activities, food-eating contests, an army band, golden oldies and skydivers. • Corkscrew turns 50 years old this season, which will be celebrated with new merchandise and featured on the annual tweet-up coin. • Pipe Scream has officially been declassified as a coaster and is now a thrill ride. • Old websites and apps are no longer used but are featured in new Six Flags sites • New signs will be constructed where the roundabout, at Cedar Point Drive in Sandusky near Thirsty Pony Restaurant, is being constructed. • Meta Glasses and similar will now be allowed on rides. • Cedar Point Shores will open with new rides. • Coastermania will change this year with no details released. • The G.A. Boeckling train engine, which was sent out for refurbishment in June 2024, is now back on the property. At this point, I think we can all agree that, after being cooped up for several months, the park opening and warmer weather can not get here soon enough.
