Go 'Crazy' for cookie dough

PERKINS TWP. — Here's the scoop on why a small business specializing in serving cookie dough made its biggest move in company history. Anna Esposito, the owner of Doughin' Crazy, recently relocated and unveiled her business within Sandusky Mall, 4314 Milan Road (U.S. 250). It's in the mall's center court where Mrs. Fields previously operated from. Along with her husband, Mark Esposito, she called this transition an "exciting expansion" in hopes of experiencing new and better opportunities for business growth. "It's fun. It's vibrant," Esposito said about the mall, "Everyone that works here has a great personality." Esposito originally debuted her business in 2019 in downtown Sandusky, grateful for the memories there. But, seven years later, she decided a move needed to occur to best suit her company's needs. The mall, she said, provides greater visibility and year-round exposure. "We have a lot more foot traffic in the winter months now," Esposito said. "They have a lot of events here in the mall, like Santa Claus, Easter bunny, craft shows and car shows. There's just a lot more going on." As in its previous location, Doughin' Crazy will serve up several unique flavors of edible cookie dough as well as shakes and ice cream incorporating Toft Dairy products along with "crazy" toppings and boba drinks, Esposito said. "We have eight cookie dough flavors on hand at all times," she said. "Right now we're featuring our red velvet cheesecake for the month of February. We'll then move into our St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charms milkshakes. As of this week, Esposito plans on expanding her menu to include other food items, such as paninis, wraps and salads. Esposito welcomes anyone to visit Doughin' Crazy, which, today, operates from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. "It's a great addition to the mall, and people are looking for more food options here, so we brought more of a variety for people to try here."
