Protesting is a time-honored tradition

Protesting is a time-honored American tradition, one of our First Amendment rights, and vitally important for our mental health in these extremely upsetting times. It's been a year since we started organizing local protests as an outlet for expressing discontent with the actions and policies of our current government — just as the Founding Fathers intended. Every time we've peacefully assembled, most participants have come away from the event with not only a profound sense of community, but also a lightening of the spirit upon seeing fellow Americans willing to come out to fight for their rights and the rights of others. They also leave with something that many of us desperately need at this moment. Hope. With that being said, we hope to encourage anyone feeling lost, alone, or frustrated in today's political climate to join us for the third No Kings mass mobilization day on March 28. We are putting together protests from noon to 2 p.m. in highly visible downtown locations all over Erie and Huron counties in Milan, Huron, Vermilion, Sandusky, Norwalk, Wakeman and Bellevue.
