PREP ROUNDUP: Bellevue girls finish regular season 22-0

CLYDE — For the first time in program history, the Bellevue girls basketball team finished off an undefeated regular season, topping Clyde 64-28 in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division action Saturday. The Division IV No. 2 Lady Red (22-0, 10-0 SBC Lake) led 20-8 after one quarter and pushed the advantage to 46-15 by halftime. Ellie Freitag led four Bellevue players in double figures with 14 points. CJ Savage added 13 points, Bailey Nichols chipped in 12 points and Kaitlyn Turinsky tallied 10 points. Annmarie Davis topped Clyde (14-8, 4-6) with 12 points while Kelsey Ray added 11 points. West won the girls 200 individual medley in 2:16.78 and touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.91). West joined Jasele Ninke, Natalie Mitchel and Hayley Henning on the winning 200 free relay (1:42.70). Perkins will send seven girls to the district meet Friday at Bowling Green State University. Two area boys won individual events. Clyde senior Eli Morgan finished first in the 500 free (4:53.09) and Vermilion's Cole Rini won the 100 breast in 1:00.17. Morgan placed second in the 200 free in 1:49.28. Perkins' girls 200 medley relay finished second in 1:55.68. Also finishing second for the Pirates were Lo Bucher (girls 200 IM, 2:22.75 and 100 back, 1:06.07), Mitchel (100 fly, 1:05.31) and the 400 free relay (3:49.14).
