PREP ROUNDUP: Norwalk caps regular season with 60-29 win at Perkins

PERKINS TWP. — Norwalk wrapped up its girls basketball regular season with a 60-29 Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win at Perkins on Wednesday. The Truckers improved to 16-6 overall and finished their conference slate with an 8-2 mark. Emmie Leber led Norwalk with 20 points and five rebounds. Trinity Lazzara added 14 points for the Truckers. Hannah Koelsch led Perkins with 11 points. Norwalk opens Division III tournament play next Thursday at home against Mansfield Senior. Perkins hosts Shelby on Saturday in its regular-season finale. Game time is 6 p.m. The Lady Red cut down nets Monday at Bellevue High School to celebrate their 16th straight conference championship. Bellevue, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division IV, is 20-0 overall and 8-0 in the Lake Division. Norwalk is in second place in the conference at 8-2. Bellevue wraps up its regular season Saturday afternoon at Clyde before tipping off tournament play at 6 p.m. next Tuesday at home against Lexington. The Lady Red are seeded No. 1 in their district while Lexington is the No. 9 seed. Also Thursday, St. Mary Central Catholic's boys basketball team tries to keep its SBC River Division title hopes alive when it visits Northwood (3-16, 2-10). The Panthers are 15-3 overall and 9-2 in the River. They are in third place, trailing Gibsonburg (10-1) and Old Fort (10-2). SMCC hosts Gibsonburg next Tuesday.
