Man charged with felony marijuana trafficking

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man faces a felony drug trafficking following a traffic stop on Saturday.Gregory Garrett-Jones, 32, of the 800 block of Filmore St., was charged with fifth-degree felony preparing drugs for sale and served with a misdemeanor bench warrant.Sandusky police said they pulled over a vehicle at about 10:40 p.m. on South Oldgate Road and Laurel Lane for allegedly running a stop sign, and found Garrett-Jones sitting in the passenger seat, according to a Sandusky police report. Police reported there wasn't anyone sitting in the driver seat, and the keys were still in the ignition.Garrett-Jones told officers the driver of the vehicle left and went into a house, the report states. Officers wrote it was "unreasonable" that the driver left the vehicle without being spotted by police.After officers noted Garrett-Jones allegedly appeared to be nervous, and overhearing a phone conversation between him and another person allegedly referencing a bag in the car, officers detained Garrett-Jones and searched the vehicle.Between his person and the vehicle, officers found $852, the report states.
