Sandusky narcotics suspect arrested for bond violation

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky woman accused of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl was recently arrested on a bench warrant for allegedly violating her bond conditions. On Jan. 28, deputies with the Erie County Sheriff's Office arrested Amanda D. Lewis, 34, of the 1400 block of McDonough St., and booked her into the Erie County Jail. At a court hearing on Jan. 16, Erie County Common Pleas Court Judge Beverly McGookey wrote that there was "good cause" to revoke Lewis' bond, according to a judgment entry filed that day. It wasn't clear what bond conditions were allegedly violated. As of Monday, Lewis was released from jail on a $80,000 bond and has no upcoming court hearings scheduled. Background The investigation into Lewis first began on March 7, 2025, when a search warrant was executed by Sandusky police at her home where police seized suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia and money, according to a Sandusky police report. On Nov. 17, 2025, an Erie County grand jury indicted Lewis on the following charges: • Two counts of endangering children, each a first-degree misdemeanor • Two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first and second-degree felony • Two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, a second and third-degree felony • One count of possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony • One count of trafficking in cocaine, a first-degree felony • One count of trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, a third-degree felony • One count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony According to her indictment, the crimes allegedly occurred on or about March 7, 2025. Lewis allegedly sold or offered to sell cocaine, a controlled substance, which exceeded 27 grams.
