BELLEVUE — Ava Jakubcin-Theis led four Bellevue players in double digits as the Division IV No. 1 Lady Red pounded Oregon Clay 77-15 in non-league girls basketball action Monday. Jakubcin-Theis scored 16 points as Bellevue improved to 19-0. CJ Savage hit four 3-pointers en route to 12 points while Kaitlyn Turinsky added 12 points for the Lady Red in a makeup game from earlier in the season. Monroeville (12-5) was down 45-44 going into the final eight minutes, but used a 14-8 edge in the fourth quarter. Cole Perry tallied 20 points for the Eagles while Maverick Myers scored 11 points. Danbury (4-15, 2-10 SBC River) led 21-5 after eight minutes, but took just a 29-26 lead into halftime. Woodmore (9-10, 7-5) used a 21-8 edge in the fourth quarter to put away the Lakers. Frankie Kovach paced Danbury with 29 points while Miles McDonald added 12 points and 11 rebounds. BOYS BOWLING Edison, Perkins teams advance PORT CLINTON — The Edison boys bowling team finished second overall in Division II sectional action at Star Lanes at the Harbor. The Chargers finished with a team total of 3,528 pins. Seneca East took the team title with 3,577 pins while Perkins also advanced with 3,515. The top four teams, as well as the top four individuals not on qualifying teams, advanced to the district tournament Feb. 19 in Rossford. Edison was led by Hayden Lewis, who rolled individual games of 148-255-213 for a 616 series, which was second overall on the day. Blake McKillips backed him with a 548 series (199-169-180). Rocco Speer topped Perkins with a 572 series (196-151-225) while Tucker Deering added a series of 525 (154-187-184). Port Clinton just missed moving on as a team, taking fifth with a score of 3,428. That was 68 pins behind Rossford, who was fourth with a score of 3,494. The Redskins, as well as Margaretta, each took two individual qualify spots. Liam Coppeler was fourth overall for Port Clinton with a 566 series (182-210-174). Margaretta's Phinneus Headley advanced with a 542 series (167-147-228) while teammate Ethan Hageman's 528 series (181-215-132) was right behind. The Redskins' Nathan Wallace took the final individual spot with a 501 series (139-182-180).
