Police, sheriff salute long-distance runner

SANDUSKY — A long-distance runner attempting to cross all 50 states on foot passed through the greater Sandusky area on Thursday and Friday, drawing a brief police escort and a steady stream of well-wishers along the way. Noah Coughlan is currently on what he describes as his final transcontinental project, known as Run For America, a 5,500-mile journey across 20 states over roughly 260 days. His stated goal is to finish in Hawaii on July 4, aligning the run with the nation's 250th birthday.
