Man stabbed, woman arrested

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky woman with an extensive rap sheet is, once again, in jail and charged with stabbing a man during an early Thursday argument. Heather L. Fox, 52, no address listed, is facing one count of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence, both of which are felonies. Just before 5:15 a.m., Sandusky police were called to the 800 block of Wayne St. for the report of a man who suffered a stab wound. The 54-year-old male victim suffered a stab from a lock blade pocketknife to the left side of his chest, according to Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He told police that he awoke in his home and discovered Fox in the residence. After about 20 minutes, the two began to argue over food items, the man told police. At one point, Fox allegedly threatened the man, then picked up her jacket and produced a knife from it, before she reportedly stabbed the man, Oliver said. Fox then reportedly fled the residence. Officers later found her in the 800 block of Fulton St., Oliver said. They recovered a sheath for a knife that was ditched in the snow along Fox's alleged path of travel. She was taken to Erie County Jail and incarcerated with her two charges. As of late Thursday, she is held there under a $30,000 bond. Fox had an arraignment scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday in Sandusky Municipal Court. A look at Sandusky Municipal Court records appeared to list a number of past cases involving Fox. In July, she was sentenced to 11 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of harassment with a bodily substance, a fifth-degree felony. She received 132 days of jail time credit, or more than six months. That means she only needed to serve about five more months to complete the sentence. That case began as an assault on a peace officer case. While being arrested during a Dec. 2024 incident, Fox reportedly spat at officers and kicked backward, striking one officer in the knee.
