Giving appreciation to IV nurses

PORT CLINTON — This past week, Magruder Hospital drew attention to National IV Nurse Day, which occurred on Jan. 25. "National IV Nurse Day is a time to recognize the dedication, precision and compassion of nurses who specialize in intravenous (IV) therapy," according to a statement from East Ohio College. "This day shines a spotlight on the health care professionals responsible for administering IV medications, fluids, blood products and nutrients often in fast-paced, high-stakes environments," it continued. "Their work is essential to patient care, and their expertise plays a critical role in treatment outcomes across hospitals, clinics, outpatient centers and long-term care facilities." Magruder Hospital also expressed its appreciation to these nurses who work in various departments at the Port Clinton-based hospital. "Our oncology/hematology/IV nurses provide incredible cancer care, but they also offer IV infusion services that help you feel your best," Magruder's statement read. "From hydration therapy and vitamin infusions to medication administration and post-surgical support, they're here to keep you healthy and thriving. Your care is in expert hands."
