Julie Farrar for county commissioner

A longtime friend and coworker, Julie Farrar was born and raised in Erie County. As a civil servant at the Ohio Veterans Home, her priority was the veterans - ensuring that quality of life took precedence, and that they were treated with dignity, respect and love that they so deserved — sometimes filling in the gap for family for those who had none. Julie was a union leader for over 15 years, mediating, arbitrating and negotiating the rights of OCSEA members. She negotiated with the management of OVH the first LPN program that allowed members who qualified to go to school with no loss of wages or cost to them. Her personal experience with the Erie County justice system also should be added to her resume. It gave her a personal insight on the toll on families, the lack of programs and the use of corrective instead of just punitive programs. These programs are especially helpful for juveniles and young adults that so badly need support and educational programs. Her career as a civil servant and life choices as a public servant speak for themselves. She has my vote, and for a chance to make her voice heard, she needs your vote as well.
