PERKINS TWP. — Perkins' wrestling team defeated Seneca East 57-19 on Wednesday in a that match that took place in the afternoon in front of the PHS student body. Hunter Schwerer recorded a late pin at 5:54 at 106 pounds to give Perkins a quick lead. Quincy Taylor added a pin — in 13 seconds — for the Pirates at 138. The Pirates got technical fall victories from Rajon Randleman (126), Jaycion Everett (144) and Law Davlin (175). Davlin is ranked No. 4 in Division II at 165 pounds. "We got a lot of young kids on the mat in pressure situations in front of a crowd," Perkins coach Travis Crabtree said. "We've got to rest and get healthy." Seven of the 14 matches were decided by forfeit. The Pirates are off until hosting a tri-meet with Western Reserve and Elmwood next Saturday. Bellevue wins on Senior Night BELLEVUE — Bellevue handled Galion 40-24 on Senior Night. The Blue Streak boys used a strong first regular game to propel them to a 2,968-2,457 win over the Redskins. Senior Landen Ebeling led the Streaks (14-1, 11-0 SBC Lake) with medalist games of 255-204 for a 459 series. Freshmen Caiden Brengartner added 214-212 for a 426 series. Sandusky's girls also used a strong first regular game to earn a 2,183-1,859 victory over PC. Sophomore Violet Rose lead the Streaks with 199-162 for medalist series of 361. Senior Captain Makayla Popke added 193-136 for a 329 series. Sandusky improved to 8-6 overall and 4-5 in SBC Lake Division play. Sandusky host Tiffin Columbian at 4 p.m. Friday.
