Reader overwhelmed by anti-Trump letters

This past Friday's Register was overwhelmed with anti-Trump letters from the usual writers. Now let's look at some of the issues. For those of you that believe Trump's intervention in Venezuela was criminal, please talk to the Venezuelans that have fled due their home country due to oppression they lived under the socialist dictatorship for years. And talk to people from other countries that have fled communist and socialist regimes. In my career I have had many opportunities to work with many people from these countries and they all ask me the same question, "are Americans that stupid to think socialism is great?" Oh, and for those poor "fisherman" that were killed during drug interventions, I guess those large bales visible in their boats were filled with fish...right? Please don't bring Israel into this discussion. If you were surrounded by countries that threaten your very existence, what would you do? Look at what is going on in Iran after what Trump did in Venezuela. Interesting front page article in the Friday paper ("5 arrested for out-of-state murder," Jan. 9, 2026 Sandusky Register), 5 illegal immigrants wanted for murder arrested in Milan. Let's guess who let them in this country and know that Trump's policies are responsible for them to be put away and/or deported. Lastly, the writer talked about freedom and fascism. If Trump was a fascist, you would have been arrested for these articles. Trump has supported the 1st and 2nd Amendments which are cornerstones of a democracy. Where have your own freedoms been eroded and what by definition of fascism has Trump done to be labeled a fascist? Look at facts and not emotions. Daniel DeNardy Sr.Sandusky
