Chamber to celebrate 80-year milestone

FREMONT — This month marks the 80th anniversary of the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce. "In January 1946, local business leaders came together with a bold goal: to build a county-wide organization dedicated to supporting business, free enterprise and the economic vitality of Sandusky County," according to a chamber statement. "Just one year later, on Jan. 27, 1947, the chamber hosted its first-ever Annual Meeting." Now, 80 years later, "We're proud to gather once again on Jan. 27 to host our Annual Meeting, honoring that legacy while continuing the work of strengthening Sandusky County's business community," the chamber noted. This year's Annual Meeting occurs from 8-10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Crystal Arbors Catering and Applewood Bistro, 1800 E. State St., Fremont. It's free for chamber members, however, registration is required. There will be a breakfast provided. People can visit scchamber.org/events and search for "Annual Event" to sign up and for more details. "This event is both a celebration of our history and a forum for collaboration, bringing members together to honor our legacy, strengthen relationships and set the stage for continued success in the year ahead," the chamber noted. "Thank you to the members, leaders and businesses, past and present, who have helped shape our first 80 years. Here's to honoring our legacy and advancing our future."
