PREP ROUNDUP: Bellevue wrestling wins Bob Bailey Invitational

BELLEVUE — Eight Bellevue wrestlers won individual championships Saturday. That led to the Redmen capturing their own Bob Bailey Invitational. Bellevue finished with 315 points while Amherst Steele was runner-up with 278 points. Elmwood was third (155 points) and Margaretta took fourth (142.5 points). Thomas Reesman (120 pounds), Ethan Jacobs (126), Owen Sterritt (138), Nolan Hartman (144), Kolt Lewis (157), Bill Sberna (165), Noah Green (190) and Tatum Gore (215) took titles for the Redmen. Reesman finished with a record of 4-0 on the day while the other seven wrestlers were each 5-0. Green topped Margaretta's Cohen Gahler via pin in 1:53 in the 190 pound final. Gahler went 3-1 on the day. Vinny Barnette, 4-1 on the day, was runner-up for the Polar Bears at 113, losing to Carey's Fisher Montgomery in the final. Bellevue's Gavin Saleski (175) and Margaretta's Fernando Gonzales (285) both took third. BOYS BASKETBALL Perkins 95, Fostoria 55 FOSTORIA — The Pirates made 16 3-pointers, routing Fostoria in non-league action. Eight different players hit a triple for Perkins (6-0). Grant Kuhnle made five 3s en route to 15 points while Sam Schweinfurth had three on his way to 16 points. Kellen Glass also scored 15 points for the Pirates while Levi Groot chipped in 11 points. Hellickson) BOWLING Sandusky boys top Clyde FREMONT — The Blue Streaks took care of business Friday, defeating Clyde 2,418-1,838 in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division action at Plaza Lanes. Leading the way for the Streaks (10-1, 7-0 SBC Lake) was senior Captain Blake Ott with medalist games of 241-206 for a 447 series. Senior Landen Ebeling added games of 195-244 for a 439 series. Sandusky is off until Jan. 3 when they compete in the SBC tournament at Rebman's Recreation in Lorain.
