BELLEVUE • Bellevue Schools recognized students for their behavior and positive choices. SANDUSKY CENTRAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL • Three Sandusky Central Catholic School students were recognized for their performance on the American Legion Americanism and Government test. The American Legion Post 83 awarded the top boy and girl students in each high school grade level. St. Mary Central Catholic High School won three of the six awards. SMCC winners: — Matteo DiRosa, who had the highest score on the test among all sophomore boys — Pravir Gorty, who scored the highest among all junior boys — Sydney Woodruff, who had the highest score among all area senior girls. EDISON • Edison Schools National Honor Society renewed the yellow ribbons lining Ohio 113. Replacing the ribbons is a four-year tradition and reminder to the community of the dedication and sacrifices made by veterans. • Students on Edison High School's first Model UN Team traveled to Cleveland. After months of preparation, research on topics and countries and writing position papers, 13 high school students went to a Model UN Conference at Case Western Reserve University. Edison's team represented the U.S., Uruguay, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Russian Federation, Slovenia along with Bosnia and Herzegovina. They participated in structured committee debates, diplomatic negotiations and drafting resolutions on pressing global issues. • Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team competed at a tournament in Olmsted Falls. The team placed second out of eight. Individual winners include: — Riley Hackney, first in extemporaneous speaking — Kasen Proctor, first in oral interpretation — Natalie Salmons, third in oral interpretation — Camilla Daniel, third in Congressional debate — Skye Wieber, fourth in oral interpretation — Natalie Mees, fifth in oral interpretation — Eliza Wheeler, sixth in oral interpretation • Edison's drama council put a Christmas tree on display at the Milan Town Hall Christmas Tree Lane. HURON • Three Huron High School band members — Rachel Merckens, Avery Dudziak and Reece Kieffer — performed along with The Ohio State Marching Band in Sandusky. EHOVE • Three EHOVE Criminal Justice students were elected to be SkillsUSA Ohio Northwest Regional Officers. Isabella Burson from Monroeville Schools, Leeland Ramsey from Norwalk Schools and Alaina Klima from Danbury Schools will participate in the SkillsUSA award ceremonies, collaborate with EHOVE SkillsUSA officers, plan SkillsUSA activities and potentially work with area businesses, school boards and community leaders. DANBURY • A Danbury Schools student was recognized by COSI, the Center of Science and Industry. Veronica Gilbert received the President's Choice Award, youth category, for The Art of Storytelling 2025-2026 exhibition. From now until May, her artwork will be on display near the "The Science Behind Pixar" exhibit. ST. PAUL • St. Paul High School announced Landon Fries and Brianna Cervantes as the December 2025 Kiwanis Students of the Month. Fries' activities, honors and achievements: ACE Academic Award, Leadership By Example Award, National Honor Society, Baseball, Football and Basketball. Cervantes' activities, honors and achievements: National Honor Society, ACE Academic Award, Softball, Liturgical Ministers Leadership Team, Class Vice President, Model UN Team, Prom Committee, Kairos Team and Parish Ministry Member.
