Fund set up for 'seriously injured' woman

OAK HARBOR — Those representing a local festival committee are rallying around a local woman who suffered extensive injuries from an incident at a holiday parade that occurred last month. "On Nov. 22, one of our royalty parents (was) seriously injured during the Clyde Christmas parade," according to a Dec. 4 post from the Oak Harbor Apple Festival Royalty committee, specifically referencing Christina "Cryssi" Bentlage. The Dec. 4 post noted how "she remains in critical condition and faces a long and challenging road to recovery." There's been no public updates about her condition since this statement was made last week. Just before 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, first responders arrived at the scene at Main Street and Meadow Lane for an accident report. Clyde police Chief Monti Campbell said Bentlage was part of the parade but not on a float. One of the floats lurched forward, causing the accident and injuring Bentlage. The crash remains under investigation. As a result, those overseeing the Winesburg Christmas Parade canceled all activities planned afterward. Want to help?
