CLYDE-GREEN SPRINGS • McPherson Middle School announced November's students of the month: — Kylie Feirstine and Dominic Barnes were the sixth-grade students of the month — Lilly Jones and Wyatt Fultz were the seventh-grade students of the month — Brooklyn Robles and Bennett Stiltner were the eighth-grade students of the month The middle school also recognized two exploratory students and two club members for January: — Sienna Ludwig and Easton Barnes were awarded as exploratory students of the month — Ava Lehsten from student council and Carly Corrick from baking club were club members of the month The middle school honors athletes each week were: — Maleah Spencer for basketball, Ava Scruggs for basketball, Karson Lee for wrestling, DJ Johnson for basketball and Elliot Lozier for basketball PORT CLINTON • Port Clinton Schools' board of education announced the winner of its Flagship Crew Award. Julie Young was recognized for her support for students at the middle and high school. The Flagship Crew Award recognizes parents, community members and staff members who help the district in its motto of "Proudly Charting a Course for Success." Young supports middle school students by reaching out to eighth-grade students in need of financial assistance to attend the annual Cedar Point field trip. For the high school students, Young supports them through doantions like school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, hair accessories and toiletries. PERKINS • The Perkins High School Robotics Club attended the Ohio School Board Association's Capital Conference for the association's Student Achievement Fair. Students shared the story of a project they have been working on since 2021. Students built a satellite, Foras Promineo, which was launched into space in September and recently deployed from the International Space Station over Brazil. The satellite has a robotic arm that can be controlled from the ground. After testing, students from around the world can use the arm to move balls around zero gravity. EDISON • The following Edison Middle School students were recognized for winning Charger P.R.I.D.E. — 4th grade: Jaxon Polley and Zi'yon Scott — 5th grade: Emerson Soviak and Lily Meyer — 6th grade: Mia Dawson and Hanna Tessaro — 7th grade: Zaden Lewis and Silas Watson — 8th grade: Camilla Daniel and Landon Price • Lainey Shantz and Hallie Shantz were recognized for their perfect attendance with tickets to the Cleveland Browns versus San Francisco 49ers game. • Edison Schools announced its November citizens of the month. The following middle school students were chosen by their teachers for their integrity, kindness and doing their best. — 4th grade: Teagan Byrne and Briggs Komlosi — 5th grade: Jessica Seel and George Sharp — 6th grade: Ellie Garner and Bridger Hogue — 7th grade: Paisley Funni and Gabe Matter — 8th grade: Paisley Keefer and Ty Nickle MARGARETTA • Margaretta's preschool students were visited by Dora Wilbur, who read her book, "Benjamin and BonBon Explore Spring."
