Get your glow on this weekend

PERKINS TWP. — Those at Lights on the NorthCoast welcome people to its upcoming free family-friendly festival, known as Glow Weekend, taking place this weekend within the Erie County Fairgrounds, 3110 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. It takes place from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There will be more than 40 vendors inside the heated building with 25-plus raffle baskets. Additionally, people can meet with Santa from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. There will also be free face-painting, kids activities and train rides. Lights on the North Coast features more than 1 million lights in which people can walk or drive through the illuminated exhibit. Tim Loris organizes the show. Loris' house on Bogart Road in Perkins Township has been a popular location for locals to see Christmas lights, so in 2022, he decided to create a light show and has hosted one ever since then. "I want to make this a tradition for families to come see year after year," Loris told the Register in 2023. "Of course, it's going to get bigger and brighter each year." Lights on the NorthCoast will remain open throughout the remainder of 2025. Beyond this coming weekend, it'll operate from 5:30-9 p.m. nightly. To drive/walk through, it does cost a fee, however, all proceeds benefit local charities.
