Support small businesses in a big way

HURON — Those at the Greater Sandusky Partnership invite residents and visitors to celebrate Small Business Saturday by supporting local makers across Huron and Sandusky. From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 29, pop-up vendors will fill the Hogrefe Building/ Marketplace Downtown, 162 Columbus Ave, Sandusky; and 511 Main St, Huron; while small business storefronts across both cities will welcome shoppers, offering a chance to discover the unique businesses that make our region thrive. Shoppers can also earn a custom embroidered Sandusky or Huron hat by visiting five participating businesses in Sandusky or three in Huron, spending at least $20 at each, and bringing their receipts to one of the pop-up markets by noon on Small Business Saturday. Since its creation in 2010 by American Express, Small Business Saturday has become a national tradition, encouraging shoppers to support independent businesses over national chains while strengthening local economies and celebrating the spirit of small business.
