Bellevue man dies in motorcycle crash

GREEN CREEK TWP. — A Bellevue man died Monday after his motorcycle went off the road just west of Clyde.Just before 3:20 p.m., Ray Beier Jr., 66, of Bellevue, was riding his 2013 Harley-Davidson tri-motorcycle east on U.S. 20 in Green Creek Township.He pulled over to the side because of issues controlling the motorcycle and continued to drive on the berm for more than a mile before going off the road completely, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol News release.The motorcycle went through a ditch and into a farmer's field. Beier was thrown off the motorcycle when it overturned. He wasn't wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release states.The Fremont post of the Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash and troopers do not believe alcohol is a factor.
