Civista completes merger with bank

SANDUSKY — Civista Bank announced the completion of its merger with the Farmers Savings Bank. Taking effect on Nov. 7, the Farmers Savings Bank has officially become Civista Bank. Farmers Savings Bank "customers will continue to be served by the same familiar faces they know and trust at their local branches in Wellington and Spencer, Ohio," according to a Civsita statement. "For now, all Farmers Savings Bank accounts, debit cards, checks and online banking services will remain the same," it added. "Over time, customers will benefit from expanded digital banking capabilities; access to more than 35 Civista ATMs across Ohio and Indiana; and a broader range of financial solutions for individuals and businesses." Dennis Shaffer, CEO of Civista Bank, said he's excited to welcome Farmers Savings Bank customers to his organization. "This is an important step in strengthening our community banking presence while continuing the personalized service that customers value most," Shaffer said. Thomas Lee, former president and CEO of the Farmers Savings Bank, added, "Our history of serving Wellington and Spencer with integrity and care will continue under the Civista name.
