Riddle, Baehr best in Milan Twp. race

MILAN TWP. — Voters in Milan Township solved their own riddle as to who they want serving them in office. On Tuesday, Kevin Riddle and Amber Baehr, both newcomers to politics, each won four-year terms as fresh township trustees, according to unofficial results from the Erie County Board of Elections. In this four-person race, Riddle obtained one more vote than Baehr. Each received about 26.5% of the total vote. Among the two people on the outside looking in: • Mike Kegarise, the lone incumbent in this race, lost in his re-election bid, getting just above 24% of the total vote. • Rounding out the four-person field, Brandon Hartz also received a tick above 24%. Both Baehr and Riddle, whose four-year terms start in January, will join Greg Cumston on this three-member board. A lifelong area resident who's employed at Freudenberg-NOK, Riddle wants to do right by his hometown. "As I approach the later stages of my career, I'm committed to giving back and contributing meaningfully to Milan Township," he said. "I'm excited about the opportunity to serve and passionate about helping shape a strong and sustainable future for our community." Baehr, an administrative assistant with Edison Schools who also serves as the district's parent-teacher organization president, offered a similar perspective. "Whether an issue arises locally or at the state level, I am committed to helping make decisions that serve our community's best interests," she said. "I understand that challenges cannot be solved overnight, but I will dedicate myself to investigating concerns thoroughly and working toward effective solutions with the trustees. I have a passion for helping move Milan into the future while preserving its history."
