Oak Harbor man charged with rape

PORT CLINTON — An Oak Harbor man who was indicted earlier this month for allegedly raping a woman has since been released from jail on his own recognizance. On Oct. 8, Isaac N. Troyer, 30, 100 block N. Behlman Road, was indicted by an Ottawa County grand jury on three counts of domestic violence, each a first-degree misdemeanor; one count of rape, a first-degree felony; and one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony. According to Troyer's indictment, the alleged crimes occurred on or about Feb. 18 and March 31, 2025, when he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with someone by "force or threat of force." On June 26, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office was contacted regarding a possible rape involving Troyer, according to an Ottawa County Sheriff's Office report. Troyer was arraigned on Oct. 16, where he entered a plea of not guilty. His bond was set at $50,000, and, as of Friday afternoon, he has been released from jail, according to court records. Troyer has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.
