Cattle prod dad's bond revoked

FLORENCE TWP. — A man who pleaded guilty to using a cattle prod on his children had his bond recently revoked. Robert M. Bores, 35, of the 11300 block of Ohio 113 E., Berlin Heights, was on bond pending a Dec. 11 sentencing hearing. A case filed with the Clyde branch of the Sandusky County courts on Oct. 3, accuses Bores of operating a vehicle under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and assured clear distance ahead. With these new charges, Judge Roger Binette revoked Bores' bond and ordered him into the custody of the Erie County sheriff's office. He was arrested Oct. 7 after turning himself in on the bench warrant. Since that time, Bores' attorney, Brent English, has filed a motion to reinstate the bond. English cited a need to consult privately with Bores before a Dec. 11 sentencing hearing. Bores previously pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony counts of domestic violence regarding allegations that he used a cattle prod on his children as punishment. A cattle prod is a device that emits an electrical charge meant to move large farm animals. It is not intended for use on humans. He faces up to six years in prison when he is sentenced in December.
