Plymouth man charged with child sex crimes

NORWALK — Law enforcement in Huron County arrested a Plymouth man earlier this month for allegedly possessing child pornography. On Oct. 2, Adrian Gamboa, 37, of the 4000 block of Baseline Road, was arrested by the Huron County Sheriff's Office and booked into the Huron County Jail on one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony. The investigation into Gamboa first began after the Huron County Sheriff's Office received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force regarding child pornography, according to Norwalk Municipal Court records. After further investigation, law enforcement determined that Gamboa was allegedly downloading obscene material from the internet that depicted "prepubescent children engaging in sexual activity," court documents state. Due to the investigation, a search warrant was executed at Gamboa's residence, where officers recovered several electronic devices, data storage devices, as well as "psilocybin," a chemical commonly found in certain mushrooms known for its hallucinogenic effects when ingested, court records state. As of Wednesday afternoon, Gamboa was released from the Huron County Jail on his own recognizance and has no upcoming court hearings scheduled, according to court records.
