Sandusky announces 2025 Halloween events

SANDUSKY — Sandusky officials recently released the list of official city-sponsored Halloween events that feature a trick-or-treat component happening later this month. Here's a look: Cedar Point Trick-or-Treat • When: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 • Where: Cedar Point 19th-annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat • When: Saturday, Oct. 25 • Where: Throughout downtown Sandusky's central business district • More: Notable events happening throughout the day include: — The Sandusky Farmers Market Pet Costume Contest at 10 a.m. — The Little Withces Walk parade at 10:45 a.m. — The trick-or-treat portion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — The pumpkin drop spectacle at 1 p.m. — The family costume contest on the Goodtime I at 1:30 p.m. Citywide trick-or-treat • When: 5-7:30 p.m. • Where: All neighborhoods in Sandusky Stay safe Sandusky officials offered the following tips to ensure a fun and safe Halloween: • "It is recommended that children be in groups of two or more and that an adult accompany them. Children are defined as 14 years of age or younger." • "Remind each child that this person should carry a flashlight; walk on sidewalks and driveways; and cross only at corners. Never cross between parked cars." • "Trick-or-treaters should stay within their own neighborhoods and only go to houses that demonstrate a willingness to participate by turning on their porch lights. Neighborhoods are defined as a three-block area in all directions around the child's home." • "Children should be alert to cars that may be turning into or backing out of driveways." • "Children should have all of their candy checked by an adult before they eat anything."
