Sandusky woman charged with felony OVI

SANDUSKY — Police arrested a Sandusky woman Tuesday after she allegedly drove while intoxicated with four children in the car.Police charged Abbey Link, 33, of East Madison Street, with one count of felony operating a vehicle under the influence and four counts of misdemeanor child endangering.Sandusky officers responded to Remington Avenue and Cleveland Road at about 5:25 p.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing a woman unresponsive but conscious in a vehicle at the intersection, according to a police report.Police spoke with Link, who was getting medical attention from Sandusky fire, the report states. Officers said Link was allegedly not answering questions coherently and she allegedly smelled of alcohol.There were four children in the vehicle Link allegedly drove, according to the report. An adult guardian arrived to pick up the children.Link allegedly admitted to police to drinking some alcohol earlier but did not elaborate further, the report states. Sandusky fire took Link to Firelands Regional Medical Center for treatment.Link was previously charged by Sandusky police with OVI and child endangering following a 2017 incident.Link's OVI charge from Tuesday's incident was upgraded to a felony because she had three prior OVI convictions, according to the report.
