Seeing what's at C. Nelson Manufacturing

SALEM TWP. — Many officials — including those representing the Ottawa County Improvement Corp, the Regional Growth Partnership of Northwest Ohio and JobsOhio — recently met up at C. Nelson Manufacturing in the Oak Harbor area as part of their Advanced Manufacturing Day. "We had the opportunity to see firsthand how their iconic ice cream carts and specialty refrigeration equipment are built," according to the corporation. "Founded in 1898, C. Nelson has grown into a trusted manufacturer, serving customers across the U.S. and internationally," it added. "Their product line includes dipping cabinets, push carts, freezers, sink carts and custom stainless-steel refrigeration units designed for ice cream, gelato, Italian ice and other frozen desserts," the statement continued. "Known for their quality and durability, C. Nelson (units ensure) they meet the highest standards in the food service industry." All who visited thanked the employees for the tour. "It's certainly a niche industry but one that brings a lot of joy," the corporation noted. "After all, the second-best job might be making ice cream carts; the first is definitely eating ice cream."
