PORT CLINTON • Port Clinton High School's boys and girls soccer teams hosted a staff appreciation night. The 16 senior players honored teachers and staff who made a positive impact on them. LAKOTA • Lakota High School announced its homecoming court. BELLEVUE • Bellevue High School's volleyball program recognized Bryan Hoover and Laura Brown with Inspirational Educator of Champions Awards. They were thanked for their positive impact and mentorship toward two senior students. PUT-IN-BAY • Put-in-Bay earned recognition for its STEM education. The school received the Governor's Thomas Edison Award for STEM Education from the Ohio Academy of Science. This is the third consecutive year the school has been awarded. NEW LONDON • New London student organizations helped run its Literacy Under the Lights event. The New London High School Student Council, National Honor Society, Teen Leadership Corps and fall athletics teams contributed to the event. The Texas Roadhouse in Sandusky also sponsored the event. ST. PAUL • Norwalk Catholic School's German students celebrated Oktoberfest. They made soft pretzels using a recipe as close to authentic as possible, given the available ingredients. WESTERN RESERVE • Thanks to the community's support through fundraising events, fifth-grade students had the opportunity to participate in The Hovercraft Project. SANDUSKY CAREER CENTER • Sandusky Career Center congratulated its Class of 2025 Barber graduates. SANDUSKY • On Sept. 27, during the final Love Where You Live Clenaup event put on by Sandusky's government, members of Sandusky High School's boys basketball team volunteered, hosted and removed litter in and around the city's underpasses. EDISON • Edison High School's Key Club and the Berlin Heights Kiwanis Club completed the club's first community service project - the Warmth for Winter Project. Students made 24 blankets for Care and Share, foster kids and the Ohio Veterans Home. Laura and Paul Nabors from Zion Lutheran in Huron helped create and distribute the blankets.
