The 'friendliest' store opening ever

FREMONT — Many people, including those representing the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, attended FriendShip Kitchen's recent ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome its new store on West State Street in Fremont. It's located next to a McDonald's. "From famous chicken to community giving, (the) FriendShip Kitchen grand opening had it all," according to a chamber statement. "We were honored to cut the ribbon at their brand-new West State Street location, dedicated to the late Doug Beck, whose legacy of community support continues to inspire," it added. "As part of the celebration, Beck Suppliers and FriendShip shared exciting company milestones, marking 75 years in business and their transition to being 100% employee-owned," the statement continued. "And, in a truly remarkable gesture, the Beck family donated $160,000 in community gifts: $10,000 to each of 16 local nonprofits across Sandusky County, strengthening the very community where their story began." The chamber underscored how it's "proud to welcome FriendShip Kitchen to Fremont and grateful for their extraordinary generosity and ongoing investment in our community.
