Man gets jail in child porn case

NORWALK — A man who previously pleaded guilty to possessing and uploading child pornography received probation and a three-month jail sentence on Monday. Corbin M.V. Kirchner, 34, who has addresses both listed in Toledo and Greenwich, was convicted on 10 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, each a fourth-degree felony. Kirchner previously pleaded guilty to those charges on Aug. 11 in exchange for 10 counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, each a fifth-degree felony and five additional counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, each a second-degree felony, to be dismissed. Huron County Common Pleas Court Judge sentenced Kirchner to three years of probation and to serve approximately three months in the Huron County Jail, according to court records. Under the terms of his sentencing, Kirchner is classified as a Tier 2 sex offender, which means that he must provide verification of his home address to the local sheriff approximately every six months for a period of 25 years. Background According to Kirchner's January 2024 indictment, the crimes occurred between July 2023 and October 2023. The investigation into Kirchner first began after the Huron County Sheriff's Office received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force that Kirchner had uploaded "obscene material" that depicted minors in a state of nudity or engaging in sexual activity to cloud storage, according to Norwalk Municipal court records. Due to the tip that they received, deputies found over 20 files that depicted child pornography, which led authorities to execute a search warrant at Kirchner's residence in Greenwich, where they seized a Samsung phone, court documents state. Kirchner reportedly "admitted to uploading multiple obscene images involving juveniles."
