PREP ROUNDUP: Perkins pulls into tie for 1st in Lake

SANDUSKY — Perkins pulled even in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division with a 25-13, 25-7, 25-11 volleyball win over Sandusky on Tuesday. The Pirates (10-8, 5-2 SBC Lake), Bellevue (15-4, 5-2) and Columbian (12-6, 5-2) are tied atop the league standings. Braelyn Davie tallied 30 assists and five digs for Perkins while Ferrell Coleman smacked 12 kills. Viera Walker added 10 kills and five digs and Avery Maldonado had 21 digs and four aces for the Pirates. Sandusky dropped to 1-14, 0-7. Monroeville 3, South Central 1 GREENWICH — The Division VII No. 5 Eagles had to battle for a 25-18, 32-30, 19-25, 25-23 Firelands Conference road win. Alexa Adams finished 15 kills and four blocks for Monroeville (16-2, 11-0 FC). Madi Reiber (13 digs) and Riley Platte each tallied 10 kills for the Eagles. Addison Lyons contributed 25 assists and 12 digs while Kaci Poths had 24 assists and 11 digs. Addison Homan led the Monroeville defense with 33 digs. St. Paul 3, Plymouth 0 PLYMOUTH — The Flyers kept pace in the Firelands Conference standings with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-18 win over Plymouth. St. Paul (11-5, 10-1 FC) host Monroeville (16-2, 11-0) Thursday and need a win to force a first-place tie. Against Plymouth, Shealyn Deeter had 14 kills and Ella Kalizewski added 12. Annie Friend had 32 assists while Bella Guerra had 12 digs. Kate Stieber, Taegan Mansfield-Bush and Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush each had eight digs. Kegney Stoll also had five kills for St. Paul. Vermilion 3, Edison 1 VERMILION — The Sailors picked up a 25-22, 15-25, 25-20, 25-10 Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division win on Senior Night. Emma Gebhardt and Sophie Habermehl each tallied 10 kills for Vermilion (6-12, 2-5) while Lauren Logsdon registered 19 assists. Elyse Myntti added 18 assists, Haley Stepp contributed 23 digs, Elizabeth Okasinski finished with 21 digs and Delaney Russell had 19 digs. Clyde 3, Norwalk 1 NORWALK — The Fliers upset Norwalk in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division action, 25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23. Lucy Glass crossed the 1,000 career digs mark with 47 digs for Clyde (6-13, 2-5 SBC Lake). Kelsey Ray had 29 assists while Brooklyn Hemminger lined 11 kills. Reese Daniel finished with eight kills for the Fliers. Emily Tyler had 25 assists and 11 digs for Norwalk (9-7, 4-3). Ainslee King had seven kills while Lola Schlotterer had 27 digs and five aces. Sawyer Wineman tallied 31 digs for the Truckers while Reagan Mooney had 17 digs and Maddie Gamble registered 11 digs. Lakota 3, SMCC 0 SANDUSKY — The Raiders topped SMCC 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action. Finley Karr had 14 assists and 12 digs for the Panthers (5-14, 1-11 SBC River) while Reid Didion tallied nine digs and five kills. Khloe West added seven digs and six kills for SMCC. Old Fort 3, Danbury 1 LAKESIDE — The Lakers took a set off state-ranked Old Fort, but the Stockaders won 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-14 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play. Lauren Bergman led Danbury (10-9, 6-6 SBC River) with 28 digs while Cali Wunder tallied 16 assists. Avrey Bowling finished with eight kills and six blocks. Division VII No. 7 Old Fort improved to 13-3, 10-2. BOYS GOLF Bellevue finishes 5th at district OREGON — Samuel Cooper fired an 80 to lead the Redmen to a fifth-place finish at the Division II district tournament at Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course. The top two teams and top two individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to next week's state tournament. The team bids went to Ottawa Hills (321) and Liberty-Benton (332) while the individual spots went to Swanton's Dylan Smigelski (77) and Delta's Lane Lopez (79). Cooper finished tied for sixth overall as Bellevue shot a 343. Blake Sutherland added an 84, Jackson Decker carded an 85 and Caden Lindsey shot a 94 to round out the scoring for Bellevue. Max Horn added a 97 for the Redmen. Vermilion finished ninth as a team with a 365. The Sailors were led by Noah Penton and Sam Riddle, who each shot an 89. Brady Myers fired a 90 while Landon Booker and Adam Gerber each carded a 97. Perkins' Kyle Schaefer and Colton Kelly also saw their seasons come to an end. Schaefer shot a 100 and Kelly finished with a 105. GIRLS GOLF Locals end season at district BOWLING GREEN — Perkins junior Ireland Hart and sophomore Maycee Bohn, as well as teams from Norwalk and Clyde, all had their seasons come to an end at the Division I district tournament at Stone Ridge Golf Club. Hart shot an 87 while Bohn carded a 103. The top two teams and top two individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to the state tournament. The team bids went to Toledo St. Ursula (328) and Anthony Wayne (340) while the individual spots went to Sylvania Northview's Katelyn Feldmann and Toledo Notre Dame's Macy Valentine, who each shot a 78. Norwalk finished ninth as a team (435) while Clyde was 10th (441). Catherine Beamer led Norwalk with a 106 while Allison Konik fired a 109.
