Police chase ends in Perkins

PERKINS TWP. — A police pursuit that wound its way through Perkins Township and Sandusky ended in the township early Sunday morning. Before 2 a.m., law enforcement officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a silver sedan that was northbound on Milan Road (U.S. 250). The vehicle allegedly fled at speeds more than 20 mph over the limit. The pursuit eventually passed Perkins Avenue into Sandusky. The car continued to Scott Street and turned left. The vehicle then went through the traffic light near Mama B's and continued southbound on Campbell Street. Eventually, the vehicle again crossed Perkins Avenue back into Perkins Township. It passed Marshal Avenue, the high school and Strub Road. When it came to the roundabout at Bogart Road, the driver attempted a right turn onto westbound Bogart but struck a street sign and the car went off road to the right and came to a rest in a field. The driver was arrested. As of early Sunday, she has not been identified. Deputies from the sheriff's office, troopers from the highway patrol and officers from Perkins police all worked together to bring the pursuit to an end.
