Support Perkins PD in photo challenge

PERKINS TWP. — Perkins police officers need the community's help to support the department for the Light Ohio Blue Photo Challenge. "Light Ohio Blue is a statewide initiative dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across Ohio," according to a township statement. "It's about community support, unity and standing behind the men, women and K-9s who protect our communities every day." What is it? Also known as the First Responder Photo Challenge, it's "a celebration of Ohio's public safety agencies and the communities they serve," according to an event statement. "Held each year in remembrance of the Sept. 11 attacks and the heroic response of first responders, this friendly statewide competition invites agencies to showcase their vehicles in creative, pride-filled photos." From Sept. 11-30, "The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites, bringing together communities from across Ohio in support of our police, fire, EMS and other public safety professionals. The challenge is about more than just photos—it's about honoring service, fostering connection, and celebrating the people who answer the call every day." Every single vote counts," according to a township statement. "With your help, we can shine a spotlight on Tenda, our K-9 unit and the entire Perkins Township Police Department.
