Put-in-Bay • Road Race Reunion: Daily from Tuesday, September 16 – Thursday, September 18 at the PIB Airport located at 1494 Langram Road. Experience the thrill of vintage car racing. This event revives the island's historic road races with vintage MGs, Porsches, Triumphs and other classic sports cars. Embracing not only the vehicles but also the vintage style and fashion of racing's golden era, the reunion invites enthusiasts to enjoy races, awards for style participation, and a dive into racing history. Relive the glory days of small sports car racing that originally took place on the island. Marvel at a range of vintage vehicles, including production cars and race-bred machines, showcasing the evolution of sports car racing. Port Clinton • Afternoon Storytime: From 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. every Thursday at Ida Rupp Public Library located at 310 Madison Street. If you can't make it to the regular Tuesday morning story time, join the library for a half hour afternoon story time to enjoy stories, music, movement, crafts, activities, and socialization. In case you have older children who need to be picked up from the elementary school, we plan to wrap up in time to get in line for after school pickup. There is no cost to attend. • Oktoberfest 2025: Beginning at 5 p.m. at the Boekling Club, located at 614 Columbus Avenue. Car Show: From 5 – 8 p.m., in downtown Fremont on Front Street. Come on down to Downtown Fremont on Front Street to visit the last Car Show of the celebratory 20th anniversary season. There is free registration for anyone wishing to show their vehicle and goodie bags given to the first 150 people to do so. Trophies and dash plaques will be given to winners, and there will be food, music, raffles and special drawings during the event. This festive occasion features a parade with marching bands and bagpipes, traditional Irish food and drinks, and plenty of green attire. Hosted by Hooligans Irish Pub, the event is a perfect opportunity to don your green and orange and enjoy a day filled with lively entertainment and Irish charm. Additionally, attendees are invited to decorate their golf carts and join in the parade, adding a unique and personalized touch to the festivities. SATURDAY Sandusky • Mario Kart Tournament: Beginning at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes MarketPlace located at 1148 Cleveland Road. Get ready, get set, go! Try your hand at racing during the first Mario Kart tournament, on the Nintendo Switch. Come compete against others for your chance to win a prize. Huron • Guided Hike Series: At Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve, located at 2514 Cleveland Road. Each hike will provide participants with a unique experience connecting with nature through learning and observation. This month's installment is "Forest Fungi for Beginners." Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times as some recreation programs and activities can be inherently dangerous. Time slots available with registration. Put-in-Bay • Monarch Fest: From 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Duggan's Field, located next to the Put in Bay Lighthouse at 2368 Langram Road. Learn all about the wonders of Monarch butterflies at the second annual Monarch Butterfly Fest. Presented by the Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center, the festival will feature a variety of activities, games, food and music that the whole family can enjoy. There will even be butterfly races for the kids with wings available. In addition to fun games and face painting, you can help LEINWC in their Monarch tagging efforts. There will be nets available that families can use to assist them with catching butterflies as part of a greater effort to increase Monarch migration tracking. During the event, the Put-in-Bay Lighthouse will be open and available for tours as well. There is no cost to attend the festival. Kelleys Island • Wine, Art and Food Fair: From noon – 6 p.m., multiple locations on Kelleys Island. Bigger and better then ever, the Wine and Art Faire will feature 4 locations this year. All locations will feature live music, and have vendors from all over Ohio selling their unique goods. Wander the Island's Winer Trail and sip and savor unique blends from all the island wineries. Grab a glass of wine and shop the beautiful artists tents that dot the properties. As part of the Outdoor Hiking Challenge, the Park District of Ottawa County and Partners are leading a series of guided walks throughout the autumn season. Join Park Ranger Basia Gawin from the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge for a mile-long, family-friendly guided hike to learn about monarch butterflies and their migration and maybe even see one up close. Whether you're new to glass fusion or an experienced artist, you'll be guided step-by-step in crafting your very own one-of-a-kind glass pumpkin. Wish you could come see the museum in the evening instead of our regular daytime hours? Back by popular demand, the museum will be open in the evening for a night of fun.
