Sandusky man threatens to shoot up BG bar

BOWLING GREEN — A Sandusky man allegedly threatened to shoot up a Bowling Green tavern on Thursday. Daychen A. Babisak, 18, of the 1300 block of E. Farwell St., is facing several charges, including: • Two counts of fifth-degree felony harassment with a bodily substance • Assault, a first-degree misdemeanor • Aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor • Resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor • Marijuana possession, a minor misdemeanor At about 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, officers were called to the 100 block of N. Main St., for the report of a man who allegedly threatened to get his gun and shoot up the business, according to a BG Independent News story. Before making the threat, Babisak allegedly assaulted a bar employee. As officers were detaining Babisak, he allegedly spat in one officer's face. Officers then put Babisak in a spit hood, the story states. As of late Monday, Babisak is held in the Wood County Justice Center, according to jail records. At a Monday court hearing, he was granted an own-recognizance bond. This type of bond is basically just a signature from the defendant promising to show up for court hearings. He was ordered to abstain from alcohol consumption, not to enter businesses whose primary purpose is the sale of alcohol, must wear a GPS monitor and to stay at least three miles away from the bar where he allegedly made the threats, according to court records.
