PREP ROUNDUP: Perkins' Hart, Edison's Seville card 37s in SBC shootouts

TIFFIN — Perkins shot a 201 to win a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division girls golf shootout by two strokes at Mohawk Golf & Country Club on Monday. Perkins edged Norwalk, which finished at 203. The Pirates' Ireland Hart shot an even-par 37 to win medalist honors by nine strokes over runner-up Samantha Young from Clyde (46). Also scoring for the Pirates was Lucy Miller (52), Maycee Bohn (54) and Makenna Marianek (58). Clyde was third at 212, followed by Bellevue (213) and Columbian (216). Norwalk's Catherine Beamer (48) and Emerson Ulery (50) finished third and fourth, respectively. Bellevue's Ava Meyer and Mariska Manning tied for fourth at 50. GIRLS GOLF Seville leads Edison to Bay win VERMILION — Edison shot a 189 at Willow Creek Golf Club to win a Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division shootout. The Chargers were led by medalist Annabelle Seville, who carded a 37. Margaretta's Ellyse Schaefer (42), Huron's Ashtyn Spooner (43), Edison's Leah Sharp (44) and Willard's Reese Bedingfield (44) rounded out the top five individuals. Margaretta finished second in the team standings with a 199. Willard was third at 210. Huron and Port Clinton each shot 222 and Vermilion was at 235. PC's Lillie Fox shot a 47 to place sixth among individuals. Margaretta's Ellaynah Schaefer and Edison's Averi Wolf tied for seventh at 50. St. Paul competes at Lady Colt Classic BELLEVILLE — Alia Bogard and Ava Englert each shot a 96 for the Flyers at the Lady Colt Classic at Little Apple Golf Course. Aubrey Dilger added a 100 for St. Paul while Annabelle Cooper tallied a 101. BOYS GOLF SMCC's Finneran River medalist TIFFIN — St. Mary Central Catholic's Blake Finneran shot a 41 to win medalist honors at a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division shootout at Mohawk Golf & Country Club. SMCC finished second as a team with a 184. Old Fort won with a 178. Danbury was seventh in the 11-team field with a 200. SMCC's Joey Finneran tied for second individually with a 42. Miles McDonald led Danbury with a 49. Danbury's Frankie Kovach and Charlie Kovach and SMCC's Jack Davis all shot 50. Mapleton 187, St. Paul 204 NORWALK — Freshman Mason Beatty fired a 41, but it wasn't enough for St. Paul in the Firelands Conference loss to Mapleton. Connor Polachek added a 45 for the Flyers while Jacob Penwell shot a 58. VOLLEYBALL Margaretta 3, Genoa 2 CASTALIA — Margaretta rallied to win a five-set non-league thriller against Genoa, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25, 25-8, 17-15. Kenadie Saylor finished with a career-high 25 kills to lead the Polar Bears (4-6). Lilly Belak added nine kills, 28 digs and five aces. Tarah Hershey recorded 38 assists and Renna Keller added eight kills.SMCC 3, Mansfield St. Peter's 0 MANSFIELD — St. Mary Central Catholic swept Mansfield St. Peter's 25-3, 25-5, 25-8 in non-league action. Finley Karr led the Panthers (2-7) with 12 assists, 15 aces and 10 service points. Reid Didion, Gianna Renwand and Madi Perkins had 5 kills apiece. BOYS SOCCER Perkins 8, Sandusky 0 SANDUSKY — Kaden Camp and Titus Normington-Slay each had two goals and an assist to lead Perkins to an 8-0 Sandusky Bay Conference win over Sandusky. Kohen Fullerton added a goal and two assists for the Pirates (5-0-1, 4-0 SBC). Mateusz Dixon, Kannyn Henson and Majeed Kattouah each scored a goal for Perkins while Jackson Cassidy, Garrett Corso and Max Zess all recorded assists. Norwalk 7, Willard 1 WILLARD — Elliot Gahring scored three goals to lead Norwalk past Willard in Sandusky Bay Conference play. Noah Jameson added two goals and Conor Nickel and Landon Ferkel added one each for the Truckers (4-4, 4-0 SBC). Roman Snyder, Landon Ferkel, Kingston Gonzales and Casey Kromer each had assists. Port Clinton 5, Clyde 0 CLYDE — Boe Mominee had two goals and an assist to lead Port Clinton to a Sandusky Bay Conference shutout win. Edison 8, Columbian 0 TIFFIN — The Chargers improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Sandusky Bay Conference with a 8-0 win over Tiffin Columbian. Ireland Hart finished with two assists and Mallory Mosley added one. Sandusky dropped to 1-6, 1-2. Edison 6, Columbian 1 TIFFIN — Sophie Baker scored three goals to lead Edison to a 6-1 Sandusky Bay Conference win at Columbian. Joy Jordan added two goals and Juliana Johnson scored once for the Chargers, who led 5-0 at halftime. Kellyn Ritchie finished with two assists. Edison improved to 2-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the SBC.
